Plate 230:  Wiring the point motors through the distribution center, Part 8: an operating diagram in the guidebook

In Plate 226, we said that the builder would "eventually" possess an operational guidebook for the layout. We are herewith changing "eventually" to "now", because we cannot afford to fall behind in our documentation. The preparation of the guidebook must move right along with the wiring in order to avoid expensive errors.

The guidebook page reproduced here shows the upper level main-line point in a schematic style (see Plate 100 for a picture of the actual point). A caption appearing above the symbol for the point contains the conversational name for the point ("Upper-level Main Line Point No. 1") as well as the abbreviated code ("ULML-pt-1").
