Plate 229:  Wiring the point motors through the distribution center, Part 7: close-up of lever-bank plugs and sockets
(This plate added NOV 2003)

This is a close-up of the lever-switch bank that was seen in Plate 228. Here you can see clearly how the plugs of the red and green wires fit snugly into the sockets at the sloping sides of the lever switches.

You might ask the question: "Is there any reason why the green wire goes into the top socket and the red wire into the bottom socket?"

--more--
The answer is "No. It doesn't matter which wire goes into which socket, because we are going to run these wires through our power distribution center."

We will see later that our power distribution center is actually a "cross-connection frame". A cross-connection frame is a place where the person in charge of wiring can decide "which wire goes where", no matter what color wire is plugged into which socket in the lever-switch bank.
