Plate 252:  Wiring the point motors through the distribution center, Part 30: how to channel the wires in the distribution board

The accompanying picture shows how we persuaded the wires to lie in neat channels between the terminal blocks. Because the distribution board's "home position" is at the extreme east end of the layout, all the equipment wires will come from the west. Therefore, we have installed 3/8-inch nylon cable clamps along the west edge of the distribution board. We have thus established a wiring standard, whereby all layout circuits must pass through these clamps, whether they connect to equipment actually in the layout or to control-levers in other locations.
