Plate 174:  Building a locomotive service yard, Part 40:  the service yard roadbed has been permanently fastened
(This plate added OCT 2003)

The roadbed for the service yard has been securely fastened to the tops of the five supporting columns. The service yard tracks have been loosely laid upon the roadbed. Neither the tracks nor the hydraulic buffer stops will be permanently fastened to the roadbed until the second yard point is installed.
