Plate 168:  Building a locomotive service yard, Part 34:  the yard point, now fully equipped with a point motor, viewed from the yard throat

Plate 164 showed the sub-surface point motor of the yard point under the roadbed of the service yard. Here we are looking from the yard throat at the same yard point. The mounting tabs of the point motor can be seen protruding above the two long sleepers that lie under the point blades.
