Plate 206:  Constructing "E.L.L.Y." columns in the structural model, Part 2
(This plate added NOV 2003)

Here we have a close-up picture of the structural model. The model is standing upon the embankment-level tracks directly in front of column 10 of the upper-level loop. The model is arranged so that you can see the careful attention to detail that must be employed when building an exact structural replica. Note the precise dimensions and placement of the columns and girders in the model. There is practically no "margin for error" in a structural scale model. Too many errors could render the model useless for planning purposes.
