Plate 200:  Installing a surface-mounted point motor with an extension arm, Part 15

A staple has been gently tapped down into the roadbed near the extremity of the extension arm to prevent accidental lifting of the arm. The arm has been extended and retracted several times to make sure the staple does not interfere with the arm's sliding motion.
