Plate 199:  Installing a surface-mounted point motor with an extension arm, Part 14
(This plate added NOV 2003)

A socket at the outer extremity of the extension arm (that is, the end furthest from the base plate) fits onto a pin that sticks up from the sliding element of the point. Because the extension arm has up-and-down flexibility due to its length, it is possible that the socket might be accidentally lifted away from the pin. We will therefore affix a staple near the extremity of the extension arm to prevent accidental lifting of the socket from the pin. The staple will be gently tapped down with a modeler's hammer.
