Plate 162:  Building a locomotive service yard, Part 28:  a Hornby R8014 Mark 2 Point Motor inside of a roadbed cut-out
(This plate added OCT 2003)

The point motor that was mated with a yard point in Plates 160 and 161 is seen here protruding through a cut-out under the topside-down plywood roadbed of the service yard. The entire point motor fits easily through the 25 millimeter-by-40 millimeter cut-out.

At the right is another cut-out for a second point motor, not yet installed. The sleepers visible through this second cut-out belong to a section of curved track that is acting as a "place holder" for a future point (see Plate 156).
