Plate 79:  Sentry boxes are added to the Black Castle
(This plate added MAY 2004)

In Plate 30, we showed the Photographer's original sketch for the Black Castle. Observe, in that sketch, that two sentry boxes are emplaced alongside the entrance arch. Here we see the actual Black Castle with two recently acquired sentry boxes.

These sentry boxes are not part of the Black Castle - that is, they were not constructed by the Photographer. They are cast-metal models in 1/32-scale, and are made by Britains, a toy soldier manufacturer.

This photo was taken with a 150-watt standard bulb in the key-light position and a 100-watt standard bulb in the fill-light position. No floodlamps were used.
