Plate 134:  Adding a souvenir mug to the collection, Part 20: tracing the outline of the template upon the surface of the insert
(This plate added OCT 2004)

The 7-inch by 10-inch laminated rectangle of boxboard, originally intended to become the bottom of the presentation box, has instead become the surface of the box's insert (see Plate 131).

The template for the Silver Jubilee mug has already been trial-fitted around the mug (see Plate 133), and now the centered outline of the template has been traced in red upon the boxboard rectangle.

The heraldic supporters (the lion and unicorn) have not yet been fastened flat upon their blue panels, so that the photo-paper upon which they are printed is curled at the edges. This curling accounts for the white highlight, an unwanted reflection of the intense 100-watt key light, that obscures the details of St. Edward's Crown which is worn by the lion (see Plate 125).

Observe that a descriptive legend has been trial-fitted above the outline of the template. The legend ("The Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II") was computer-printed through a word-processing program. The name of the font is Bookman Old Style, and the font size is 20-point. The legend was printed on plain (non-photo) paper.

The word-processing program was instructed to print the legend using white letters on a blue ground. If the style and color of this legend is found to be satisfactory, a finished version will be printed on photo-quality paper.
