Plate 41:  View looking southwest, with the second concept model, a schematic, and Hornby track on top of the "quarter panels"
(This plate added SEP 2003)

In this view, an arrangement of Hornby track has been loosely placed on top of the quarter panels. Most of the track that is represented in the concept model has now been placed upon the layout.

SUBJECT: Concept-2 on quarter panels with HVR-2 schematic and track

CAMERA: Canon EOS Rebel-X SLR
MEDIA: Kodak ISO 400 4-inch by 6-inch glossy print

EDITING: Adobe Photoshop
The outer curve of track is actually a long curved spur originating at the right-hand switch. In the concept model, this spur descends from a one-inch height in a gradual spiral. One inch in the concept model is equivalent to 12 inches in the actual layout. (The spiral ramp in the concept model can be seen more easily in Plate 17).
