Plate 65:  View looking west along the upper level on the north face of the layout
(This plate added SEP 2003)

This view shows a clutter of construction tools lying on the baseboard, including a carpenter's level (the long black and yellow object in the center). The clutter shown here is the usual state of things when heavy construction is in progress.

At the extreme right-hand edge (the north face) of the layout, the lower end of the descending spiral can be seen as it continues to wrap around the layout. The spiral has now descended to a height of 4-1/2 inches above the baseboard. In Hornby (1/76) scale, 4-1/2 inches represents a height of about 28 feet.

The second concept model can be seen placed upon the roadbed of the upper level, aligned correctly with the layout.
