Plate 61:  View looking south at ballasted track

In this view, the application of model ballast is shown along the elevated roadbed at the extreme eastern end of the layout.

Masking tape is visible at the right. The masking tape is used as a temporary "dam" to keep the loose, wet ballast in place before the glue mixture that affixes the ballast to the roadbed is dry.
