Plate 194:  Installing a surface-mounted point motor with an extension arm, Part 9

We are satisfied that the extension arm permits us to position the R8015 baseplate at a reasonable distance from the inside curve of the point (see Plate 193). We now mark the desired position of the baseplate, and then we remove both the baseplate and the extension arm before preparing the roadbed for mounting.

When marking the position of the baseplate, it is a good idea to make at least six marks upon the roadbed:

1.  Mark each corner (see accompanying picture)

2.  Mark the two wiring slots inside each long edge (see accompanying picture)
