Plate 142:  Building a locomotive service yard, Part 8:  what color is the driver's uniform?
(This plate added OCT 2003)

In Plate141, we saw that the little figure representing the locomotive driver for the "Pug" was molded in black plastic. For the sake of realism, we wish to paint the figure before mounting it upon the locomotive (the directions that are packed with the "Pug" model explain exactly where to mount the figure). Now we need to decide upon an appropriate color for the uniform.

The accompanying illustrations, from an old set of cigarette cards in the builder's collection, suggest that some shade of blue might be correct for the driver's uniform. If you are interested in obtaining authorized reproductions of these or other cigarette cards, you might try Murray Cards (International), Ltd. in London, England.
