Plate 137:  Building a locomotive service yard, Part 3:  view from the yard throat
(This plate added OCT 2003)

This picture shows the new locomotive service yard from the point of view of the yard throat (the word "throat" is used here in the sense of "entranceway"). The spur tracks and the switches ("points") are loosely laid upon the plywood roadbed without fastenings of any kind.
