Plate 16:  Construction of a black setting for small displays, Part 4: the foundation has an uneven floor

HE accompanying photo shows the three-cornered foundation, which we first saw in Plate 14, resting upon a drafting board in the photographer's studio. The floor of the foundation, it can be seen, is uneven, because the flap on the left is higher than the flap upon which it rests.
Since we want the black matting-board base to be as level as possible, we must think of some way to level the foundation's floor before affixing the black baseboard. If we don't do this, the black baseboard might develop a sag after repeated use. SUBJECT: close-up of three-cornered foundation showing uneven floor
