Plate 14:  Construction of a black setting for small displays, Part 2: preparing a carton to be used as a foundation
(This plate added FEB 2004)

HOWN here is the carton that was first shown in Plate 13.
The carton has been opened up along its seams to form a three-cornered structure. Three pieces of black matting board will be affixed to the side, back, and base of this structure.

If necessary, wooden bracing strips will be fastened to the outside of the matting board to provide additional rigidity.
