Plate 66:  Lighting effects with the Black Castle, Part 2: low-angle view of the battlement
(This plate added APR 2004)

The illumination in these views is identical to the two views in Plate 65. The camera has now been dropped to a lower angle and aimed squarely at the battlement.

Observe that the battlement virtually disappears in the right-hand picture, in which the overhead key light has been switched off. The highly reflective breastplates of the soldiers reveal the presence of the crenellations, but the merlons are invisible.

This photograph, at 1.2 megapixel resolution, was illuminated by a 100-watt overhead floodlamp key light and a 150-watt fill light This photograph, at 1.2 megapixel resolution, was illuminated only by a 150-watt fill light. The overhead key light was switched off
