Get out there and draw! Field work Although the day
was a hot and muggy, the woods along the Nature Trail were a cool spot to plant ourselves for some "timed drawings" of 20 minutes or so each. We seemed to have concentrated on understory plants on this trip, and "bagged" some
pretty spectacular specimens in our sketchbooks. Some of us were fascinated to discover "new hemlocks from old"; seedlings getting started on rotting logs; the fungi on
snags, and the intriquing business of lichens on the limestone stone walls... |
