The Landis Arboretum in Esperance, NY hosts our four-session workshop in the Library and Herbarium, providing an excellent venue for our lectures, lab sessions and demonstrations. 

We do simple dissections under the microscopes and magnifiers provided, giving us a hands-on supplement to the computer-projected course material.  Demos of illustration techniques in pencil, pen, and watercolor help us with the homework...

...yes, we give HOMEWORK!   Each week an assignment is given, covering the botanical and illustration topics we explored.  The following week, we get a chance to discuss our discoveries and learn from each other.  For those not too shy to show us their work (and you don't have to!), here are some completed assignments.  Wave your mouse over the thumbnail for artist credit, click for an enlargement.
