Plate 78:  Northeast corner of layout
(This plate added SEP 2003)

The middle level roadbed at the northeast corner is not cut to conform to the outer curve of the track. The plywood that extends beyond the track at this corner will eventually support various structures at a height of about 5 inches above the baseboard. In Hornby 00 scale, 5 inches represents a height of about 32 feet.

A small square black object can be seen beneath the corner plywood at the lower right. This is a Hornby R965 Standard Train Controller, which controls the speed and direction of the train.
