Plate 37:  View looking southwest
(This plate added SEP 2003)

In this view, the 4-foot by 8-foot baseboard has been entirely covered by four 2-foot by 4-foot plywood "quarter panels". The panels have been loosely placed upon the particleboard in order to ascertain their exact size. The quarter panels have not been fastened onto the baseboard.

The panels are each 3/16-inch thick, and were purchased at a surprisingly low cost from a bin at the lumber dealer. The bin contained an assortment of plywood "quarter panels" of various grades; these four panels were classified as the lowest grade.
