Plate 28:  Trial fit of Hornby track
(This plate added SEP 2003)

This view, looking west, shows the second concept model in the correct orientation (the north face of the model is aligned with the north face of the layout).

Close examination of this picture will reveal that the switch and the straight spur on the right can be seen on the concept model’s upper level. In other words, the Hornby track shown here will eventually be laid at a 12-inch elevation.

The switch shown was provided in the “Track Pack” that was included in the “Flying Scotsman” train set. It is a Hornby “R8073 Right-Hand Standard Point”.
