Plate 67:  View looking west, trial fit of lower level curved track

This picture draws attention to the method by which new track arrangements are begun.

If you look closely at the baseboard level of the layout, just to the left of the locomotive which is standing upon the upper-level tracks, you can see a stack of three small boxes containing screws and drill bits. Resting upon this stack of boxes is some curved track that extends, from the right, into the center of the layout. Subsequent plates will reveal how this trial fit develops into firmly supported roadbed.
