Plate 211:  Constructing "E.L.L.Y." columns in the structural model, Part 7

The accompanying picture shows the 1-in-12 scale on an architect's ruler laid against the north face of the structural model. You can see the number "8" (slightly blurred in this close-up) on the ruler. This means that the structural model is built on a baseboard that possesses a length of exactly 8 feet in 1/12 scale. This appears to be correct, because the miniature 1/12-scale baseboard represents the actual baseboard of the layout, which is supposed to be 8-feet long (see Plate 1).

A new problem now arises: it appears that the actual baseboard is not precisely 8 feet long!
